Canister sets figure prominently in some of my fondest memories.  I know this sounds a bit far fetched, so allow me to explain.

When visiting my Grandma’s house when I was very young, I held a wide-eyed fascination about the beautiful canister sets she had in her kitchen.

They were cream-colored ceramic canister sets that had texturized images of red roosters crowing at daybreak, and for some reason, I have kept these roosters in my mind’s eye through the years.

Maybe it’s because my visits with Grandma were always filled with memories of good times, good meals, and basking in her grandmotherly attention, and of always looking forward to delicious treats from her kitchen.

Granma knew how much I loved these canister sets, and she would set them down on the kitchen rug and let me play with them, but always cautioned me not to spill the fluor and sugar that was inside.

Perhaps this explains my fasciation with canister sets, and on these pages, a never-ending assortment of canister sets are offered for the reader to review, admire, perhaps to acquire for their use in their own kitchens.
